Those interested in land use issues in Crawford County have probably heard about the state's new "Working Lands Initiative." The goal of the initiative is to achieve preservation of areas significant for current and future agricultural uses by: Expanding and modernizing the state's existing farmland preservation program. Establishing "agricultural enterprise areas" (AEAs) Developing a purchase of agricultural conservation easement matching grant program Working Lands Initiative Workshop Thursday, February 4, 2010, 1-3 p.m., (session following from 4-5 p.m. on the Ag Enterprise Area program for those who wish to stay.)
