"Out of Iraq" rallies called by WNPJBy borges, Section War and Peace
At the national conference of United for Peace and Justice this last weekend in Chicago, the members voted to have five or six REGIONAL "Out of Iraq" rallies this Fall - rather than calling for one rally in Washington, DC.
We're saving gas and getting to know our activist neighbors in our bordering states! Our Midwest group met together at this conference and came up with a plan to have a Rally and March in Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 27th ... with the goal to get a lot of new people there - inviting those who have never before come to a peace march/rally to join in. We in Wisconsin need to start working on this soon, reaching out to new folks across the state and looking for ways to coordinate transportation to Chicago, ideas for the program, and more.
