Eyes Wide Open Exhibit Report--ViroquaBy borges, Section Templum
The Kickapoo Valley Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker) hosted the American Friends Service Committee exhibit entitled Eyes Wide Open-Wisconsin: The Human Cost of War today. The sun shone brightly, the wind was brisk, and those who came to pay homage to the fallen of the Iraq War were all deeply touched.
![]() The names were read on the half hour by those with family members in harms way, one with a nephew who perished in Afghanistan, and others with connections to the military. Each reading was a deep experience that brought us all closer to the reality of those who have paid the highest cost and made the ultimate sacrifice. No one could leave the exhibit unchanged, our gratitude to those in the American Friends Service Committee who support and maintain this ever-changing memorial.
