Over 5000 people attended the fest this year.  The weather was a bit colder than usual, but the rain held off and the speakers were a hit. Greg Palast wasn't arrested at the airport as_expected...

One benefit from my time there was getting to know Steve Hanson who runs the state-wide news site UppityWis.  He has the server space to post some of my short audio clips from the 2006 fest.  So if you missed the party, tune into this_story on UppityWis that has pictures and links to audio of Greg Palast, Tom Harkin, and DemocracyNow's Amy Goodman. I think he may have video that will be added later.

At the UppityWis.org booth (that I helped staff) I was happy to talk with folks about the future of using the internet to promote progressive thought and extend its influence.  It was terrific getting perspectives from other administrators of websites and those who spend time surfing on line.  Everyone thought they would like a community site covering their neighborhood and sites like KickTime should be all over the state.

Well maybe I exaggerate a little...
