(if they're so interested in what we're reading
why don't we just tell them??)

The USA PATRIOT Act includes provisions that Alberto Gonzales and the Bush regime want to make permanent - including a provision that allows the FBI to investigate the records of bookstores and libraries. We should be proud of our reading habits, right? And if the government is so curious to know what we consider worth reading - well, why don't we just go ahead and tell them?

More below the fold...or visit our website

So, the Book Report Project. Participation is simple and fun:

    * Pick a book to report on. It could be about the present situation - use our book list for suggestions - but it doesn't have to be. You could just pick your current reading selection, or one of your own personal faves if you'd rather.

    *  Write a book report - nothing long or fancy, three or four paragraphs is fine. (Or, if you don't want to write anything, maybe create a drawing or other artwork based on the book - or just have your picture taken while you're reading the book!)

    *  Then, whatever form your report takes, SEND IT TO ALBERTO GONZALES AND TO YOUR LOCAL FBI OFFICE- via email, hard copy, whatever delivery mechanism(s) may be appropriate and legal.

    *  Tell us about your choice, and your report!

We'd like to get several thousand reports (at least!) turned in on the same day - for the winter 2006 term, that date will be Friday, February 17, 2006 - right in between the birthdays of Lincoln and Washington. Time the mailing of your report accordingly. (And feel free to enclose Valentines, letting them know just how much we love Big Brother!)
