Expenses are few, but real to broadcast over the web. They maintain an office at the Landmark Center and so have that studio rental. They also pay Frontier $90 per month for DSL and phone service (when might we expect a decrease in these rates I'm wondering...happening everywhere else.) So with these re-occurring expenses, and a yearly $25 fee to renew their Wisconsin State Corporation status, and $7.25 to renew their web address, they need to cultivate a membership base.
All the programmers are unpaid. Jim Hallberg is the main weaver of context for the station. David Klann is their technical/geek support. They currently have six volunteer programmers doing live shows or creating content. Valley Stewardship Network provides use of their 501c3 status to offer a tax write off for donations that exceed $50. They are currently seeking to support the move towards attaining an LPFM license should one become available. The formation of a board of directors for that endeavor is needed while the money raised in the past for the creation of a live non-commercial FM station sits in a savings account in the Westby Credit Union in Viroqua.
